How to Speed Up a GIF on iPhone
iOS has no built-in GIF editor, but you have two practical options: use a browser-based tool directly in Safari (fastest, no install required), or download a dedicated app. Here's how each method works.
Method 1: Use GIFSpeed in Safari (no app install)
- 1
Open Safari and go to GIFSpeed
On your iPhone, open Safari and navigate to gifspeed.com. The site is fully mobile-optimized and works on iOS 15 and later.
- 2
Upload your GIF
Tap the upload area on the homepage. Select "Photo Library" to pick a GIF from your Photos app, or "Files" to pick from iCloud or local storage.
- 3
Adjust the speed
Drag the speed slider left to slow down or right to speed up. Tap preset buttons (0.5x, 2x) for quick one-tap adjustments.
- 4
Download to your iPhone
Tap "Change Speed," then tap the download button. Safari saves the GIF to your Files app (Downloads folder). Open Files, find the GIF, tap "Share → Save Image" to move it to your Photos.
Note: Dedicated GIF editor apps on iOS often add watermarks or charge for full features. The browser method (GIFSpeed) is free, watermark-free, and requires no install.
